send:eco is a small company that I set up in 2008 to help tackle the problem of wasteful packaging by producing Christmas Cards and stationary that was more economic with it's use of paper.

I realised that by creasing a postcard down the centre and printing the address section upside-down, a send:eco card could be sent like a postcard without an envelope. When you receive the card you simply fold it, and as the address section is printed upside down the address is tucked out of the way leaving the greeting to be in it's traditional position.

The cards were printed on 100% recycled card with vegetable based inks here in the UK. For every pack bought a 50p donation was given to The Sumatran Orangutan Society who carry out conservation projects in the diminishing rainforests of Sumatra, and for every two packs bought the SOS could plant 1 whole tree.

The cards were sold across the country, were featured at the Eco Design Fair at Brick Lane, and I was interviewed about them on BBC radio.

For the project I had to design all the cards, the logo, the packaging and build a website, Facebook page and numerous html email updates to people who had subscribed to our mailing list on the website.
